Cole Hauser to Star in Action Thriller ‘Panama’ With Mel Gibson in Co-Starring Role (Exclusive)
Yale Productions is behind the project, with the company’s Jordan Beckerman and Jordan Yale Levine producing along with Michelle Chydzik Sowa and Michelle Reihel.
The script, by Daniel Adams and William R. Barber, follows a rugged and decorated ex-marine (Hauser) who is sent undercover by his former commander (Gibson) to execute a high-value deal with untrustworthy adversaries.
William R. Barber, Richard Switzer, Ian Niles and Anne Clements are executive producers.
The project reunites Hauser and Gibson who previously collaborated on Paparazzi, the 2004 thriller that Hauser starred in and Gibson produced via his Icon Productions.
Gibson will shoot his part and then segue to Leo from Toledo, an action thriller being directed by the Nelms brothers that will also shoot in Puerto Rico. Gibson next stars in Fatman, a Christmas-themed action movie whose trailer generated considerable buzz.
Hauser plays Rip Wheeler on Yellowstone, Paramount Network’s hit series co-created by Taylor Sheridan. The series is coming off its third season and has a been renewed for a fourth.
Neveldine is best known as the co-director of the kinetic Jason Statham action flicks Crank and Crank: High Voltage, as well Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. He helmed the moves with Brian Taylor. He made his solo directing debut with supernatural thriller The Vatican Tapes.
