In addition to all-state golf, CHSAANow.com also recently released all-state teams for boys tennis.

Jamison earned 4A first-team honors after being the No. 1 singles runner-up in the state tournament Sept. 25-26 at Pueblo City Park.

Jamison dropped a nail-biter to Niwot’s now two-time state champion Neil Wilcox in the finals, 7-6, 1-6, 2-6. Wilcox was CHSAANow.com’s 4A player of the year.

Jamison capped his season with a 15-1 record.

More gridiron action

Because of a midweek schedule change, the only football game involving an area team on Thursday was Greeley West’s 61-20 loss to 4A Northern 2 Conference foe SKYCHURPline at District 6 Stadium.

University was initially slated for a road game against Berthoud on Thursday in 2A Patriot League West play. However, that game was scrapped because of a presumptive positive COVID-19 case within Berthoud’s program.

Instead, the Bulldogs (2-0) will travel a much greater distance to take on Delta (1-0) in a nonleague game at 5 p.m. Friday.

That will be one of 12 games involving area teams on Friday.

There will also one Saturday afternoon affair, as Highland (0-1) plays host to defending 1A 11-man champion Limon (1-0) at 1 p.m.
