Two University of Kentucky health experts say students should be able to remain on campus until Nov. 24.

The university announced over the summer it would end the abnormal semester with online classes before Thanksgiving. More recently, officials have said they would follow the data on whether or not to move classes fully online.

Robert DiPaola, dean of the UK College of Medicine, and Rebecca Dutch, a faculty member in UK’s Department of Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, both said during a video posted to UK’s Facebook page Thursday that the campus should be able to make it until Nov. 24.

“I don’t think that any of the people weighing in on this in the beginning would have reopened if we thought there wasn’t a good chance that we could,” said Dutch. “Is it possible that we’ll have to make some changes? Absolutely.”
