Global solidarity for health worker safety and patient safety
Join us on World Patient Safety Day Global Virtual Event
Thursday, 17 September 2020
14:00 –17:30 CEST
The COVID-19 pandemic has exerted unprecedented pressure on health systems worldwide. Health systems can only function with health workers; and a knowledgeable, skilled and motivated health workforce is critical for provision of safe care to patients. “Health Worker Safety: A Priority for Patient Safety” has, therefore, been selected as the theme for World Patient Safety Day 2020, which focuses on the interrelationship between health worker safety and patient safety.
World Patient Safety Day Global Virtual Event brings together international organizations and partners from around the world showcasing initiatives and programmes in the area of health worker safety as well as patient safety. The event will also feature testimonies and stories from regions, countries, health workers and patients. In addition, WHO will be launching a set of advocacy and technical products to support implementation of theme related strategies.
Important note: The event will be interpreted in the six UN languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish). Kindly download the latest version of Zoom 5.2.2 to be able to access interpretation services.
